Tech Career Expo and Developer Jam
SF Bay Area Tech Career Expo and Developer Jam taking place June 28-29, 2012 in the Moscone Center, provides employers the opportunity to recruit top talent and jobseekers access to the most innovative technology opportunities in a casual and creative atmosphere. Tech Career Expo showcases tech jobs and career opportunities at dozens of interactive companies. Professionals involved in all aspects of the technology industry, from engineering, programming and design, to marketing, sales and management are encouraged to attend.
Tech Career Expo is held concurrently with Google’s sold-out developer conference, Google I/O. Both events take place in the Moscone Center. Keynotes and key sessions from Google’s developer conference will be live-streamed into the developer theater at the Tech Career Expo across the street. Given that Google I/O is sold out, this is an excellent way to network with peers and connect with other talented developers.
Tech Career Expo is free. Let us know you’ll be coming via the optional registration below.

“The first Tech Career Expo @ SXSW was a great opportunity to brand our company and make people aware of not only our business, but the kind of employees we have and are looking to hire,” says Jordan Aguirre, talent acquisition manager at Reddwerks Corporation. “Attendees had great energy and interest in our company, and we had traffic consistently. Giving away five new iPads helped of course, but we definitely met the people we wanted to, got our name out there, and had a good time ‘werking’!”

The Tech Career Expo takes place at the Austin Music Hall. SXSW Interactive takes place at 14 difference campuses but a good majority of it is at the Convention Center. It is an easy walk from the convention center to the music hall but you can also rest your feet and take our luxury, Tech Career Expo SXSW Shuttle bus. The Tech Career Expo SXSW Shuttle stop is at the corner of San Jacinto Blvd and 4th Street (one block west of the Convention Center – near the Residence Inn by Marriott). The bus runs continuously, picking up every 30 minutes, starting at 11am on Friday and 12pm on Saturday. The shuttle runs from 11am to 5pm on Friday and 12pm to 5pm on Saturday.
Get Your Next Gig Where Willie, Snoop and BB King Played
Few can say they found a job at the same place where Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, BB King and Willie Nelson all brought down the house. But this is SXSW, and where one would normally expect to find talent on stage at the iconic Austin Music Hall, this talent show is about you and your future. And it’s looking pretty bright, if you’re on the tech industry’s cutting edge.
60 companies (and beer) are now on tap, with an eye on SXSW’s international talent pool at the first Tech Career Expo @ SXSW. Open to SXSW attendees and non-attendees alike, the event is a can’t-miss, come-as-you-are affair, even if you’re not in the market for a job.
So what does great talent look like? Just ask Aviv Wecler, recruiting lead at online marketing solutions provider Yodle. “We look for engineers who truly understand what it takes to build great software and want to solve challenging business problems with cutting-edge technology,” says Wecler. “Top engineers are customer focused, take pride in what they do and are energized to make a significant impact on Yodle and our industry. The ability to juggle more than three objects at a time while dodging Nerf bullets comes in handy too.”
